What to Print for Christmas Travel with Kids

Prepare a small selection for a journey, a seated wait or a holiday visit. Choose actual activities your child can use, print one edition and keep the rest of the download for another day.

Begin with the place you will use the pages

A waiting area with a firm surface can suit writing and drawing; a moving journey may not. Pick a comfortable moment, offer breaks and keep paper play optional. Driving adults do not take part. At home, an imagined trip works just as well: the Travel bundle supplies its fictional scenes and evidence.

Match the reading support, not just the age label

The bundle has 25 picture-led packs aimed at ages 5–7 with a reader and 25 reader packs aimed at ages 8–10 with support. Open a real preview first. Look at the instructions, symbols and writing space. An adult can read a clue without giving the answer, and a child can describe a drawing before writing.

Print three pages from one mini-pack

Extract the complete collection ZIP, then extract the chosen pack ZIP. Select A4 for A4 paper or US Letter for Letter paper. Choose colour or ink-saving, and print its three player pages single-sided at actual size. Print one test page and check that symbols and margins are clear. The four player PDFs repeat the same three activities.

Pack a pencil and keep the answers separate

The Travel mini-packs need paper and a pencil; a clipboard or firm surface helps. They do not require cutting, folding, loose counters or internet. Keep the one-page adult guide separate, on paper or on your own device. A drawing or story prompt can have many valid responses; the adult guide gives checking criteria instead of one required picture.

Choose a different mini-pack for the next pause

A picture-led pack can suit a seated arrival wait, while an older reader may prefer a departure-board or pretend-bill puzzle at a table. The pack finder filters by support level and occasion. Every mini-pack is independent: keep its three activities together and use its own adult sheet, without needing to work through the collection in order.

Use a small plan with room to change

For example, choose a picture-noticing pack for an arrival wait, a reader pack for a quiet table later, and leave the rest unprinted. A finished drawing, a shared explanation or deciding to stop is enough. There is no need to finish all fifty packs, follow a daily schedule or meet a time target.

Try the repeated sample before buying

The free Decorated Street ZIP supplies all three player activities from pack 02 in four print editions. It has no adult answer sheet. Those same activities are included in the paid Travel bundle; the sample is not three bonus activities. The Activity Vault has its own older travel kit, while Railway offers longer connected paper cases and Carnival includes making and shared formats. Compare your existing files before choosing.
